Most dentists and orthodontists recommend removal/extraction of wisdom teeth in adolescence , or at least as a young adult. The reason for this is that if the wisdom teeth do not erupt/break through, they will crowd the permanent teeth. This is especially disturbing if the patient has spent time and money on orthodontia.
